The Innovation Environment in the Zlín Region
It can generally be said that the business community in the Zlín Region understands innovation from the wider perspective. Business people identify with the American approach, where innovation is considered to be a specific business instrument - resource leading to the creation of wealth. It is for this reason that they approach innovations in the spirit of the definition used by the former Ministry of Commerce and Trade in Great Britain, ("...the successful exploitation of new ideas")
The innovation environment in the region is always to a certain extent determined by the macroeconomic situation and the business environment. In the tables below there is a summary of the basic indicators and information about the Zlín Region, from which it is possible to gain a basic understanding of its economic situation and development. If not mentioned otherwise, the data refers to 2007.
