Polish SME developed a system for quality control in gluing process of envelopes and corrugated paper boxes. It is attached to a machine and helps in recognition and marking of defectively glued products that can easily be removed from production line. It helps to reduce the number of defective end products. The company is looking for manufacturing companies in order to develop and adjust the system to the companies’ needs. Manufacturing, commercial and technical cooperation is sought.
Description:
The developed system is set up of a specially designed construction, which is attached to a working machine or a production line responsible for cold gluing of envelopes or bulk containers (corrugated paper boxes). The construction includes all the wiring, photocells, control panel (an LCD screen with appropriate software) and a marking system. The offered technology concerns a single channel control and detection system, i.e. detection with a single detector.
When mounted on a machine or production line, with help of the detector, the system detects errors in the applied glue line. The control panel has stored data about the attributes of the glue line that shall be applied for the best performance of the machine. If the system detects an anomaly in the applied glue line on an envelope or a box, it instantly marks it with a UV active marker (on water basis, so that it does not affect other products). These marked products are later on removed manually or with help of an additional removal system (depending on the machine).
All components of the system come from known and leading manufacturers. The system itself is configured by the Polish company and the software that manages the procedures and processes of quality control and marking of the whole system has been developed by the Polish enterprise.
The Polish company seeks partners for implementing and adapting the technology in a manufacturing plant, to the specific needs of the partner, or changing the partner's technology that is currently in use.
Partners are also sought for commercial agreement with technical assistance.
Innovations and advantages of the offer
What distinguishes the system is that there is no need to replace the whole production line. Normally, this kind of systems are included in a machine and if a company plans to introduce such a system in its manufacturing activity, they have to replace the old machines with the whole production line because the systems are not offered separately or buy expensive additional modules. The Polish company came up with an idea of complementing gluing production lines with the system and developed the software needed for invalid functioning and marking (or additionally removing) the defective products.
The offered technology is easy to install and use (no need to stop a machine for long installation works. It remarkably improves efficiency of the machine it is installed on. The system is fully adjustable and has many configuration possibilities. It can be used on various gluing stations.
The system enables an automatic glue geometry parameter and pattern setting (learning mode) and recognition of products with invalid glue line (detection) through comparison of measured parameters with the patterns stored in the system's memory.
Unique in the offered technology is the above mentioned learning mode. After instalation, and setting the right parameters of applied glue line, the production line (glueing station) is put on slow mode for a few minutes. The system reads physical characteristics of the applied glue and stores the parameters in its memory as the pattern to be used in further production process.

The technology is used to supplement gluing stations (machines, production lines) in order to mark and remove defective products. It controls the quality of applied glue (glue line) preventing wrong application of glue on end products.
