A Spanish organization for the food industry is seeking companies or research groups with technologies related to the production of biopolymers from agroindustrial wastes applicable to the development of biobased plastics that can be used in food packaging. This entity is interested in signing an agreement for technical cooperation.
This center that provides R+D+i services for food sector entities, seeks research centers, universities, SMEs and / or technology centers, capable of producing biopolymers using raw material from agroindustrial waste, primarily (but not exclusively) from horticulture. These biopolymers will be used to develop bioplastics that can be subsequently used to develop products for food packaging, for example, plates or films. Biopolymers must have the characteristics that bioplastics needed to achieve the requirements of the regulations for packaged food, and also be biodegradable and environmentally friendly.

Technology must be capable of transforming the raw material for agroindustrial waste from the horticultural sector in biodegradable biopolymer with properties that make them able to be used for manufacture of biobased plastics.
