A Dutch company is specialized in the development and production of foamed plastic materials for geneneral industrial use and also in the aviation, automotive and building sector. The company is world market leader in many applications and produces its own basic materials. The company is interested in contacts with partners that are active in development or production of fire retardant additives and new solutions for foamed plastic materials.

In general there is a worldwide tendency that the legal safety requirements for fire behaviour and the toxicity of fumes of construction and building materials are increasing.
In the case of plastic materials the additives used to improve the fire behaviour, have a negative influence on the material properties, like tensile strength and mechanical durability.
In addition, the available solutions for fire retardant additives and the use of alternative basic materials are limited and/or reduced by environmental requirements/legislation. An example is the European Community Regulation on chemicals and their safe use (EC 1907/2006), dealing with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical substances (REACH).
The Dutch company is interested in technology related to environmentally friendly fire retardant additives and/or new solutions for foamed plastic materials such as poly-urethane (PU), poly ethane (PE) and poly propylene (PP). The aim is to develop and apply improved, environmental friendly foamed materials in complex application with high requirements in worldwide niche markets, like the automotive and aviation sector.
