A UK based SME active in the security sector is interested in technical cooperation with materials manufacturers to develop and/or incorporate intelligent impact resistant materials in applications such as helmets and limb protectors.
A UK SME which designs, manufactures and supplies personal protective equipment to the police, prison service and private security organisations is interested in technical cooperation with materials specialists. Their aim is to develop a range of personal protective products offering superior performance and properties to conventional rigid outer/foam inner combinations through the use of intelligent impact resistant materials. Foams, gels, textiles or other types of materials will be considered.
Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:
The ideal properties of the material are:
- High impact resistance
- Rapid recovery rate (for multiple impacts)
- Light weight and flexible
- Flame retardant
Products developed using the new materials will ultimately be required to conform to relevant standards.
