Název projektu:
Looking for strategic partner to manufacture an innovative slider packaging for medicines with child resistant system (11 FR 33j6 3NL9)
Popis:
A French SME specialised in medical packaging has developed and patented a child-resistant and senior friendly packaging for medicine blisters. The packaging received the highest child protection level from a famous US laboratory. The SME is looking for a partner operating in the production of customized packaging for the pharmaceutical industry. This partner must be interested in the design and development of a packaging line dedicated to the production and blister filling of this packaging.
A lot of research study reports provide clear evidence that the ingestion of low numbers of tablets of pharmaceuticals can do serious damage to children. In certain cases less than one pill can kill a child. Prescription medicines are more commonly implicated than over the counter drugs.
In the United States every medicine is according a toxicity value' so for some, a pack is considered opened when one unit is extracted, whilst for others up to nine tablets need to be accessed before the pack is regarded as open.
In the EU we don't have a common regulation for medicine packaging. Therefore, whilst the standard setters have defined an opening for blister packs in EN14375 as more than eight units', the industry has developed products that exceed that standard terming them F8, F7, F6 etc. down to F1.
This innovation fulfils the requirements for child-resistant effectiveness F1 according to the current code of Federal Regulations title 16, Part 1700.
Senior friendly assures that a high percentage of patients can successfully access medications and comply with dosing requirements.
This innovative slider pack including a folding carton with 2 PE parts and a sliding blister card compatible with either thermoformed, tape or cold formed blisters.
It has been planned to allow an easy mechanization. The plastic parts and spring can be piled for an easy transport and load in the machine.
The partner should be able to produce this cardboard packaging.
Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:
The developed Child Resistant package complies with following market requirements:
Child-resistance:
The user must carry out two simultaneous operations to take its medicine.
A permanent child-safety:
Some CR Blister packaging are already used on the market. However once they are opened, they would not close again by themselves. On the contrary this package is ensuring a permanent child-safety. If the user releases the push-button, the sliding blister-card comes back automatically to its initial safe position making the medicine inaccessible.
About sustainability:
It complies with the essential requirements in the packaging and packaging waste directive 94/62/EC. The packaging components are recoverable through at least one of the material recycling process (EN 13430).
