A Finnish SME active in the field of distributed energy production systems using wood and other biomaterials as fuel has developed effective and environmentally friendly systems and solutions. The company wants to improve the efficiency of its products by developing new additional features and process option to its product package. Therefore, magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) generator technology expertise or ready solutions are sought for technical and commercial cooperation.
A Finnish SME active in the field of distributed energy production systems using wood and other biomaterials as fuel has developed effective and environmentally friendly systems and solutions. The company wants to improve the energy efficiency of its products by developing new additional features and process options to its product package. One additional option is to transform kinetic energy of the gas streams of the distributed energy production plants to electricity by magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) generators.
MHD technology is widely used e.g. in Russia in large power plant applications, where the kinetic energy of flue gases have been transformed to electricity. However, the MHD generator units of these applications are too large for distributed energy production plants. The Finnish company is interested to find either ready commercial solutions of smaller size MHD generator based process units or alternatively deep expertise to consult development and planning of an own MHD generator. Therefore, the company is looking for deep expertise especially in the field of magnetohydrodynamics generator technology.

The technology the company is looking for is primarily ready smaller size MHD generators, which can be used in gas streams of small, local distributed energy production systems. Alternatively, company is looking for such a deep practical expertise of MHD generator technology that can assist the company to built on own solution for a MHD generator.
