Název projektu:
Method for shrink wrapping process of a product into a plastic film. (10 IT 54V8 3J8Y)
Popis:
An Italian SME is looking for an alternative method to reduce the shrink wrapping process of the film around the product and the power consumption, achieving anyway the same speed and rapidity of the process.
The company is interested in technical cooperation with SMEs and university research laboratories, in manifacturing and commercial agreement for assessment and further development of the shrinking process of the film.
The shrink wrapping process involves the passage of a product, wrapped into plastic film, inside a high temperature oven (so-called tunnel). The film, due to the received warming, thermo-shrinks and gives rise to a close and tightly wrap package that follows the shape of the product.
The mostly used films in this process are the Polyethylene (thickness between 30 and 100 microns) and polypropylene (thickness between 13 and 40 microns).
The tunnels are equipped with a motorized conveyor made of metal mesh or rollers placed on chains (to allow the hot air passage even under the product) and are made by a structure with a metal hood to which sides are installed some electrical heating elements.
The hood structure is insulated by rock-wool panels. At the top of the hood is placed a motor that moves an internal fan to create an air recirculation that warms uniformly all the air inside the chamber.
The heating elements are set to reach a given temperature, detected by a probe inside the hood.
Once the operating temperature (about 160°-180°, depending on the thickness of the film and the line speed) is reached, the heating elements are de-activated and activated again to maintain the given temperature, with a tolerance range of +/- 5°.
It is important that the air around the product is in continuous motion: a hot chamber with static air is not enough for a good shrinking action.
Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:
The tunnel is with a chamber approximately 1400 mm wide, 600 mm internally high and 2500 mm long. This tunnel has 52,5 installed Kw, with an operating consumption amounting to about 2/3 of the installed capacity.
The company is seeking new solutions for the so-called tunnel.
