A UK SME has embarked on the development of new heat management system based on nanofluid coolants. The company's main area of specialism is in the design and manufacture of bespoke heat management solutions for its clients. As part of its new product development activities the company is looking for suppliers who can provide precisely engineered nanoparticles, nano-fibres and nanotubes dispersed in a carrier liquid.
The company is looking for an organisation who has established technologies for manufacturing and dispersing precisely engineered nanoparticles into carrier liquids such as water, water/glycol mixtures and oils. The organisations or partners sought are ones who can demonstrate the ability to fabricate nanoparticles of a very tight or narrow particle size distribution and to effectively disperse these into a carrier liquid such as water, water/glycol mixtures and oils.
Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:
With regards to the composition of the nanoparticles, nanotubes and nano-fibres, the company is open to suggestions offered by the responding organisation. They may be metal, metal oxides, non-metal based nanoparticles or hybrid nanoparticles comprising of two or more different nanoparticles attached together. Offering organisations must be able to demonstrate the quality of the nanomaterials they are able to manufacturer with respect to repeatability of their shape, narrow particle size distribution and stability of these nanomaterials in the resulting dispersion. Ideally the nanomaterials should be dispersed using electrostatic methods or with surface modifiers that leave areas of the nanostructure exposed.
