We offer production and purification of recombinant proteins using bacterial cells such as E. coli and L. lactis. We have expertise in molecular cloning, fermentation, purification and characterization of recombinant proteins.
We have developed an expression system, named P170, based on the Gram positive bacterium L. lactis. P170 offers a number of advantages such as secretion of recombinant proteins to the growth medium, no presence of endotoxins, and no need for exogenous inducer as the P170 promoter is auto-induced. Batch or fed-batch fermentations including the use of a defined non-animal growth medium are used for production in bioreactors in 1-15 L scale. Furthermore, we have in-licensed a technology (REED) that improves the biomass yield and thereby the amount of recombinant protein by a factor of 10. We have been able to produce 2-4 g/L of recombinant protein.
