Název projektu:
PS - EUREKA ACQUEAU - Development of High Performance Thermoplastic Pipe Using Biaxial Orientation Method (11 TR 99PB 3LW0)
Popis:
A Turkish company experienced in research and development on pipeline technologies, energy production and management, advanced materials, fluid transportation subjects, computational modeling and analysis is preparing a project proposal to ACQUEAU 4 call. The project aims to develop high performance thermoplastic pipes using biaxial orientation method. The company, acting as a partner, is looking for SMEs, universities or research institutions to participate to this project.
A Turkish company that has research projects on pipeline technologies, agriculture, biomedical science, energy production and management, advanced materials science, computational modeling and analysis fields in addition to fluid transportation subjects will aplly with a project proposal to EUREKA ACQUEAU 4 call. The project aims to develop high performance thermoplastic pipes using biaxial orientation method.
Under certain conditions of pressure, temperature and production speed, it is possible to orient the polymer molecules in the same direction as which the material has been stretched. In biaxially orientation, molecules can be oriented in both circumferential and axial directions therefore material properties can be increase in both directions.
The main objective of the project is to apply biaxial orientation process in plastic pipe production for increasing stiffness, barrier properties and resistance to chemical reagents.
Biaxial orientation process has been applied in polyvinylchloride pipes for many years. In this project, this method will be applied to other thermoplastic materials such as polyethylene which is a better environmentalist material than polyvinylchloride.
In plastic pipe industry, this method has been used for polyvinylchloride pressure pipes which diameter up to 400mm but in proposed project it will be used also on non-pressure pipes such as spiral winding pipes and wastewater pipes. This is the most innovative part of proposed project.
Design and development of continuous biaxially oriented pipeline is an other innovative part of project.
In this respect, the Turkish company is looking for a research institute or university that is experienced in macromolecule physics specially in polymer orientation. An SME experienced in design and development of plastic pipe production line and joining methods and another SME experienced in pipeline automation technologies such as controlling of temperature, wall thickness etc. are also sought.
