Název projektu:
PS EUREKA ACQUEAU - Development of A HDPE Pipe Electrofusion Welding Method and A Non-Destructive Testing Method for the Quality Control of This Welding (11 TR 99PB 3LXA)
Popis:
A Turkish company working on pipeline technologies, energy production and management, advanced materials, computational modeling and analysis fields in addition to fluid transportation subjects is preparing a project proposal to EUREKA ACQUEAU 4 call. The project aims to develop a HDPE pipe electrofusion welding method and a non-destructive testing method for the quality control of this welding. The company is looking for SMEs universities or research institutions to participate to this project.
A Turkish company, has research projects on pipeline technologies, agriculture, biomedical science, energy production and management, advanced materials science, computational modeling and analysis fields in addition to fluid transportation subjects. The company also has wide scientific and manufacturing experiences based on productive cooperation with universities for many years
The Turkish company will aplly with a project proposal to EUREKA ACQUEAU 4 call. The project aims to develop a HDPE pipe electrofusion welding method and a non-destructive testing method for the quality control of this welding.
The plastic parts to be joined are heated by using copper wires in electrofusion welding method used for joining of HDPE pipes. While electric current is applied to the copper wires, they are heated and thus, HDPE material near to them melt. In this project, it is aimed to develop alternative materials to heat plastic material in the welding, instead of copper wire. This alternative may be a non-metallic material, such as carbon fiber. Additionally, it is aimed to develop the present electrofusion welding method.
In the second part of the project, a method or device will be developed to perform non-destructive testing of welding zone in the pipe joint. In this way, a quality controlling method will be established for the plastics welding. The most important criteria for the NDT of welding zone is the mobility of the testing application, because it is projected that the test will be carried out at the site of pipe laying.
In this respect, the Turkish company is looking for a research institute or university to develop a non-destructive method for welding control and an SME to develop appropriate fiber-wire alternative for welding zone heating.
