Název projektu:
PS Eurostars: Gesture Activated X-ray Inspection and Analysis GAXIA (11 GB 41n7 3MG2)
Popis:
A UK company is seeking several non-UK partners to join a small consortium for a collaborative project to develop and refine a novel technology to support intuitive and safe inspection of suspect packages and potential safety hazards by x-ray inspection and image analysis through a novel gesture based input and control system.
The GAXIA consortium is developing a novel software support package, offering leading-edge image inspection and analysis software with a new streamlined gesture-based user interface, specifically targeting the events management and security zone market, to enable rapid and intuitive x-ray inspection of a range of potential target objects (suitcases, briefcases, rucksacks, parcels etc.). Against this background, it is proposed to develop a novel technology comprising:" An Image Processing (IP) Engine, based on proprietary methods and IP techniques developed by the coordinator;" A Human Computer Interface, supporting gesture based recognition and control of the IP engine;" An Expert System, providing intuitive guidance and workflows to skilled and semi-skilled operators.
The global security market is a large and growing sector, currently estimated at between $180 billion and $194 billion annually. All indicators are that this sector is likely to remain protected from spending cuts, and will develop substantially over the coming years in the Middle East and North African (MENA) markets.
Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:
* Call: Eureka Eurostars Programme
* Call deadline: 22/09/2011
* Partner Search Deadline: 09/09/2011
* Proposal development stage: Proposal under development
* Project size - approx: ¬1.2M
* EU funding foreseen for the prospective partner: ~¬300,000 (depending on national criteria).
The following partners are sought to be part of the small consortium:
An HCI (Human Computer Interface) specialist to provide the novel HCI refinements in support of streamlined and/or rationalised operating procedures.
A Gestural/Speech recognition partner to provide the design and development of the novel interaction framework for the system, supporting and/or supplanting the existingkeyboard/mousepad interaction model.
An AI/Data mining partner to provide the design and development of the novel automated feature-identification and extraction system, with the supporting shared knowledge base.
Depending on national criteria for the Eurostars programme, the partners may be an SME, Large Enterprise or Research Organisation.
