Název projektu:
PS: Eurostars: Industrial Partners (SMEs) Sought for Development of an Innovative Solution for Positioning XXL Parts During Assembly (11 DE 1593 3NBB)
Popis:
A German non-profit R&D company that focuses on XXL products, e. g. wind turbines, commercial airplanes, and ships, is due to set up a Eurostars project in order to improve the assembly of XXL products by means of an optical positioning system.
They are looking for industrial partners that want to contribute to the development of the system. Expertise is sought in the fields of mechanical design, handling technologies, and microelectronics. The project combines micro and XXL technologies.
The project goal is to design and implement a wireless, optical sensor network for positioning XXL parts during assembly. Current approaches to the challenge of positioning XXL parts during assembly are f.e. jigs, video measurement or laser trackers, local distance measurement etc., all of which show certain weaknesses compared to the innovative solution proposed in this project. Key elements of the proposed solution are sensor nodes which are temporarily joined to the parts that must be relatively aligned.
Typical fields of application of the new technology would be production of wind turbines, commercial airplanes, ships etc.
The company has vast experience in carrying out both nationally and EU-funded R&D projects.
Partners sought:
- Integrator (e.g. supplier of heavy load vehicles):
During the project, the integrator equips heavy load handling vehicles with the new positioning system.
- End user (e. g. shipyard, wind turbine manufacturer):
The end user should be a manufacturer of XXL parts and be interested in contributing to the project by applying the technology in their production chain / final assembly of the parts.
- IT developer (e. g. supplier of control software):
The IT developer's task during the project will be to design and implement an assistance system. The assistance system processes the sensor network data and gives guidance to the operator by means of a user interface.
- Manufacturer of optical sensor nodes (e. g. supplier of control hardware, electronics):
The sensor node manufacturer's task during the project will be the electronic design of the sensor nodes (layout design) and sensor node production (prototyping, assembly).
Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:
The proposal is currently under development and due to be submitted for the next Eurostars cut-off date 1/3/2012. Project duration approx. 36 months, total funding requested to be determinded (depending on project partners and respective national funding rules).
Potential partners who express interest in joining the project proposal will receive further information once direct contact between the parties has been established.
