A Spanish ICT SME specialized in business intelligence, systems engineering and architecture for eHealth proposes the analysis, design and construction of a complex software platform focused to improve the efficiency, strategic focus, collaboration and knowledge management in hospitals. The company looks for partners to submit the proposal to the Eurostars call (deadline: 1st March). They should be research-performing SMEs expert in healthcare management, and healthcare entities or institutions.
The aim of the project is to develop an IntelliHealth Management System (IHMS) that will have several modules to extend its core: gathering of data, analyzing information, generating business intelligence and value for the management staff of hospitals, making them to collaborate, and taking optimal decisions.
The main module will be called IntelliHealth Core Management System (IHMS.C) and will offer all its functionalities and utilities through a powerful interface based over a web browser running in a PC. Nevertheless, managers in healthcare are not used to be for a long time working with a PC, but, at the same time they are getting used to tablets and smartphones.
The project will thus analysis, design, develop a mobile module to access to the IHMS core and collect indicators, alerts, deviations, tasks, data views of each user and show them in the mobile device for the interaction of the user.
It is not just only for showing part of the information or functionality of the main module in a mobile device, but to take advantage of the mobile environment making the user collaborate, process the tasks, share knowledge and influence the organization through his continuous interactions. This module will be called Intellihealth Management System (IHMS.Mob).
To extend and complete the modules in the IHMS, the SME requires partners interested in collaborating and participating for the future business. Since the functional orientation is centered in healthcare the partners should have expertise in eHealth. Moreover, since the system has been thought to be designed over Microsoft technology, partners should domain tools such as SQL Server, SharePoint or the .Net framework.
One task that can be developed through IHMS is moving the whole organization towards its vision and making it focus in its strategic plan:
Most of the Indicators exposed in the module IHMS.C identify and measure how the organization is performing its plan and how far or near it is from its objectives, helping its staff to redirect every process to improve performance through collaboration, knowledge management and business process automation.
Nevertheless, every professional should perform his own program of objectives, or subscribe to a common program, and probably should be rewarded for the achievement of program.
As most of the staff objectives have a tough relation with global objectives, the partner will have to collaborate in the analysis, design, and development of an Objectives Module that will be responsible for the access to the IHMS core and for checking, for every professional, the specific performance of each objective agreed with the employee. Moreover this module should have to calculate retributions, distribute the gratifications and manage other performance indicators probably not quantitative, and even though show in public the individual performance of the staff.
The searched partners should be research-performing SMEs expert in healthcare management.
Moreover, since the system has been thought to be designed over Microsoft technology, partners should domain tools such as SQL Server, SharePoint or the .Net framework.
The partners, expert in healthcare management, will have to collaborate in the analysis, design and justification of a IHMS implantation methodology.
Based on main processes of hospitals, partner must identify the collection of key performance indicators (KPI) from IHMS list that should allow increasing management capacity from the perspective of cost. This also includes establishing value ranks of IHMS indicators for every dimension considering a general European benchmark.
Partners will have to analyze where influence to get the greatest impact on KPI result, therefore to improve the result of business. As a result, managers in healthcare will notice that putting their focus on these KPI and processes they can to do more with the same.
Finally, partner will design models for hospital to calculate the return on investment (ROI) of IHMS.
