Název projektu:
PS: FOF.NMP.2012.-4: High-performance manufacturing technologies. (11 GB 77dz 3MEP)
Popis:
A UK company is acting as project coordinator for a proposal that will be submitted in the call area FOF.NMP.2012.-4: High-performance manufacturing technologies in terms of efficiency, robustness and accuracy.
The proposal is related to the development of surface treatments for rubber crumb that will overcome the deterioration in properties that currently occurs when these materials are incorporated in rubber materials.
They now seek a range of partners.
A UK company is acting as project coordinator for a proposal that will be submitted in the call area FOF.NMP.2012.-4: High-performance manufacturing technologies in terms of efficiency. (volumes, speed, process capability etc), robustness and accuracy.
The proposal is related to the development of surface treatments for rubber crumb that will overcome the deterioration in properties that currently occurs when these materials are incorporated in rubber materials. It will develop process equipment and control technologies and will also investigate the application of some of these processes to other filler materials.
Although significant effort and legislation has been applied to the recycling of tyres and other rubber materials, the uses of the recycled material tend to be low technology and low value applications that do not fully exploit the properties of the material. This is because the incorporation of recycled rubber causes significant reductions in mechanical properties of the material, probably as a result of poor bonding between the recycled crumb and the matrix.
The proposed project aims to investigate a number of surface treatments that, either independently or in combination, will result in significant improvements in bonding between rubber crumb and a variety of polymer matrix materials, including rubber, resins, adhesives and sealants. The project will also cover the development of associated equipment and control technologies, with the intention of producing prototype-scale plant for use in industrial settings, as well as designs for larger scale equipment.
The successful development of surface treatment processes will enable the greater use of rubber crumb in high value, high performance applications and will have the dual benefits of increasing the value of the recycled material (thus making recycling a more economically attractive option), while also reducing the amount of virgin rubber used.
Some of the processes developed will also be applicable to inorganic fillers, such as calcium carbonate, and the project will also investigate the surface treatment of these materials in order to improve bonding to the matrix and achieve enhancements in the reinforcing effect.
The UK company is looking for partners with expertise in the following areas:
" Rubber crumb production (from tyres and/or other sources)" Tyre manufacture" Tyre retreading" Rubber manufacture, for example rail pads, crawler tracks, and building and bridge bearings" Adhesive and sealant manufacture" Resin and composite manufacture" Seal manufacture" Inorganic fillers
Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:
Call identifier: FP7-2012-NMP-ICT-FoF" Date of publication: 20 July 2011" Deadline: 1 December 20111 at 17.00.00 (Brussels local time)." Indicative budget2 3: EUR 160 million from the 2012 budget
The company would like to have the Consortium finalised by 1st November 2011.
Companies who are unfamilar with the FP7 are asked to contact their local Enterprise Europe Network office to discuss the scheme and to see if they are suitable. Local offices can be found here - http://www.enterprise-europe-network.ec.europa.eu/about/branches
Due to large number of responses expected it may not be possible to provide feedback to every enquiry. Companies of interest to the consortium will be contacted.
