An Italian SME has set up an innovative technology for active insulation and solar gain in buildings and is looking for partners for a R&D and demonstration project aimed at innovating light prefabricated walls and cladding panels to be used in Nearly Zero Energy Buildings. Potential partners should have experience in: geothermal storage, design of buildings, production of prefabricated elements. The project will include adaptation of the technology and demonstration in existing or new buildings
An Italian SME has identified an innovative dynamic insulation technology (ENERgy-Gain Active-Insulation Device) to be used both in construction materials and in building envelope in existing or totally new building to be conditioned (both heating and cooling). The technology can be used in the following cases:
- prefabricated concreted panelling;
- roof cladding and façade cladding,
- cladding made with dry construction techniques,
- sandwich prefabricated panelling
The ENERGAID can work with a low heat temperature (20° for example) coming from renewable energy sources which are exploited and used to make fluid (water in general) circulate according to a specific path in the device itself which is positioned next to the external surface of the building.
The company looks for industrial partners to set up cooperation aimed at a full-scale validation test of the innovation proposed, through its application to a new construction or in an already existing one, followed by validation.
The ENERGAID, with a thickness about 10 cm, is an effective thermal barrier and insulation system corresponding to 1 metre of heat-insulating material of good quality currently used in the building sector.
Using low temperature energy allows direct exploitation of renewable energy sources and avoids unused heat waste. Solar energy can also be exploited (heat gathered trough solar irradiation can be also exploited trough the device) and combined with photovoltaic systems. The absence of moving mechanical components (there's no need to have a heat pump working) gives excellent longlasting expectations and reliability. The level of comfort for inside people is ensured both in summer and winter time. The proposed system is cheaper, helps money and energy saving.
Overall, the innovation will combine the building envelope the following multifunctionality: thermal hyper-insulation, sound insulation, incorporate plants, capture solar energy, use waste heat, use a small amount of materials and energy for its realization.
Sometimes it may also be particularly interesting and distinctive to capture solar energy required, without making visible the solar collectors.
This unique feature makes the possibility of energy retrofitting measures which provide for full utilization of solar heat, keeping excellent architectural compatibility with the original appearance of buildings.
The technology can be used in civil building, both existing or to be restored, factories, TLC/ICT, wineries, commercial buildings, farms, etc.
