A Spanish engineering company in the field of construction, both buildings and infrastructures (roads, railways, ports, airports and hydraulic works) looks for entities for involving in a project which deals with the design of a novel transport interchange to improve citizen mobility. They look for research partners specialized on transport and logistics, energy, sociological studies, ICT developers and demonstrators in this field.
The Spanish Company is the coordinator of the proposal. The company activities are structured into seven business lines: Transport Infrastructure Engineering, Building and Industrial Engineering, Geotechnics, Construction Material Quality Control, Health and Safety Coordination, Construction Product Certification and Research, Technological Development and Innovation.
This project will design a novel transport interchange to improve citizen mobility. It will take into account traditional transport means such as busses or coaches, trains or underground but also some other environment friendly means such as bicycles, electric cars or walking. The project will include person flows, timetables, availability of parking areas for cars, motorbikes and bicycles. ICT tools will be developed to provide information on real time to citizens and to help them planning their journey on real time conditions. Business models will be developed for the exploitation of the interchanges. The project will be validated in several demonstrators with different characteristics.
