Název projektu:
PS: FP7.NMP.4.0-1 Nanoencapsulated materials for need-designed toys and child articles with additional therapeutic properties - TheraCHILD (11 ES 23D1 3N1F)
Popis:
A Spanish research centre seeks partners for a FP7 project aiming at the development of new functional and active nanoencapsulated materials to be used for a new-conception of therapeutic toys and children articles with a specific design that will expand the advantages of play and product functionalities.
The SME shall contribute to apply, scale up and/or test the materials and prototypes for the industrialization and application stage.
The general objective of the project is the development of new functional and active nanoencapsulated materials. These materials will be used for a new conception of therapeutic toys and other products for children with a specific design.
Firstly, the development of these new materials is double-aimed: on one hand, applying an appropriate amount of medical treatment according to the patients' needs (eg: drug dispensing, insect repellent, etc) and, on the other hand, providing toys/articles with pathogen-free characteristics which is essential in this kind of environments.
Secondly, these toys & children articles will be particularly designed to perform and promote rehabilitation or other therapeutic actions established by health professionals.
The merge of materials and design into therapeutic toys shall develop novel products, enlarge industry market size and provide health centres with new possibilities when it comes to applying treatments, especially for children.
According to that, specific objectives would be:" Compiling a list of final requirements that the materials and designed products must have according to the intended use or therapy established by a health professional." Achieving a set of nanoencapsulated active materials for diverse aims (hygiene, disinfection or sterilization, drugs dispensing, insect repellence, etc.)." Establishing the design specifications." Designing new functional products that will include the therapeutic specified requirements." Developing the prototypes manufactured with the new materials." Actual validating with final users while gathering data for further actions.
The value chain will be established as follows:
MATERIAL DEVELOPERS AND SCALING UP DESIGNERS PROCESSORS AND MANUFACTURERS HOSPITALS AND/OR HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS
The consortium is urgently looking for SMEs that could complement the Value Chain.
Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:
The proposal is being prepared for FP7.NMP.2012.4.0-1 call, which first draft closes in November, 8th and, if accepted whole proposal must be ready for May, 3rd. This call is intended for Novel materials and design-based solutions for the creative industry.
This programme enhances innovative and profitable business areas for the European industry, through conceiving, manufacturing and marketing innovative products, processes and services which are human-centred, need-driven, design-led and materials-anchored.
The role of the SME participants in the project should be significant. At least 35% of the project's core activity should be carried out by SMEs. They will have the decision making power and the output would be for their benefit (wondering spin-off).
The project is in a conception phase, although technical work and schedule is being developed.
