Popis:
A Romanian institute is developing research activities in the field of materials science, raw mineral resources, wastes recycling, environment protection and sustainable development.
Companies, R&D entities, academics are sought for technical cooperation and collaboration in European projects in waste materials recycling for construction industry, eco-innovative building materials development and buildings energy efficiency increasing.
The main objective of the Romanian institute is the development of eco-friendly, construction products with improved properties regarding the resistance at high mechanical stress, at freeze-thaw cycles at extreme temperatures and at fire, from waste materials provided by different industrial sectors.
Regarding the eco-innovative materials development, is interested in the achievement of cement free building materials, like the geopolymers based light concretes, with excellent physical-mechanical features and thermal insulating properties.
Concerning the buildings thermal efficiency increasing, they would like to build up international partnerships for research activities, in order to develop new, eco-innovative insulating materials and techniques, includind also the Life Cycle Assessment of the building materials.
The topics mentioned above are in accord with the priority areas of the European programmes, like Eco-Innovation 2010, Eureka-Eurostars, Eracobuild, Intelligent Energy Europe, FP 7.

The waste materials recycling and the elimination of the cement from the building materials fabrication technologies have a positive environmental impact, the obtained products being in totality eco-friendly.
At present there are high market demands for new, innovative thermal insulation products, in order to improve the buildings thermal efficiency.
