Název projektu:
Ysz-Alumina-Pt Co-firing Capabilities (11 LU 87GA 3ME8)
Popis:
A large US company is looking for proposals for the conversion of a prototype fused ceramic-platinum oxygen sensor to large scale production.
They are interested in licensing, product acquisition, contract research, proof of concept leading to scale up to manufacturing, joint development agreement, supply agreement.
Oxygen sensors are ubiquitous in medical, automotive, aerospace, and chemical and food applications. A novel sensor design prototype features Yttrium-Stabilized-Zirconia (YSZ) fused to an alumina (Al²O³) platinum electrode surface on one side and an insulated heater on the other side. The co-firing process believed to be required for this step is to succeed on a commercial basis lies outside the equipment and operating experience the company. Investigation of other methods of producing layered structures has suggested that co-firing is the only viable approach.
The target design is flat, about 3.5mm x 20mm x 0.5mm. This application requires durability and ease of manufacturing.
Possible approaches might include, but are not limited to:
Multi-layered co-firing based on green tape methods.
For other approaches to be considered, a clear statement of the advantages over co-firing must be made, evidence of achieving those advantages provided and samples be available immediately as requested.
Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:
The successful technology supplier will:
Have demonstrated Pt-YSZ-ceramic cofiring technology suitable for a Pt-resistor heated YSZ sensing element working at 600-700°C
Define operating conditions achieving reliable bonding
Achieve targeted ceramic porosity
6-Sigma, ISO 9000 or DIN quality assurance systems in place
Provide pilot methodology studies
Offer optional commercial production capability of 106 pieces per year
Offer in process testing capability
Provide and ship the fired sensor core safely and economically for conversion elsewhere to finished sensor package
Withstand 40G acceleration
Achieve 6000 hours operation
Exceed 12000on-off cycles
Meet design dimensions of approximately 3.5 x 20 x .05mm
Ability to weld Ni or Pt wires to the contact pads is desirable but not required.

Responses from companies (large or small, startups, etc.), hospital or academic researchers, contract research institutes, pharmacologists, nutritionists, medicinal chemists, drug formulators, biochemists, physiologists, alternative or traditional medicine providers, etc., from around the world are all welcome.
ANTICIPATED PROJECT PHASES OR PROJECT PLAN
All proposals will be delivered to the client for preliminary evaluation. There may be additional questions or requests for reference data, as necessary.
Responding organizations that advance to secondary evaluation will be contacted by the client directly and phase 1 will be commenced.
Phase 1 inspection and bench replication of prototype under NDA
Phase 2 to be determined based on mutual agreement appropriate to state of development of preferred vendor
Phase 3 pre-production trials, customer acceptance of finished, packaged sensors.
Criteria for moving from phase 1 to phase 2
Demonstration at bench level minimum of a pre-commercial fabrication technology leading to a packaged sensor meeting stated and yet to be disclosed requirements.
