Novel Technologies For Accurately Managing Fertirrigation In Strawberry And Other Berries Culture (12 ES 27F3 3NWU)
Popis:
An andalusian association of Strawberry growers is searching for novel technologies which can help to accurately control and manage water and fertilizers use in strawberry and other berries culture. Improvement on fruit quality is specially intended, but increase in plant production rates will be considered as well. An empiric model performed on the study case should be accompanying the implementation of the technology. The association is looking for technical and commercial cooperation.
Main challenges in modern agriculture focuses on the growing demand for safer, healthier, higher quality food and for sustainable primary production, in terms of lowering environmental impact and managing natural resources, specially water.
Last innovations in modern agriculture address the implementation of irrigation monitoring systems which permit a more accurate control of water needs and a precision irrigation schedule. Furthermore, through ICT control tools, very locally and uniformly water releases to the plant are allowed as well as real time soil-water availability and monitoring of nutrients available for the plant.
Fertirrigation consist on releasing water and essential nutrients simultaneously to the plant through the irrigation system installed within the soil, which acts as a vehicle to conduct the nutritional solution to the roots. Fertirrigation is demonstrated to highly contribute to a more sustainable use of water and fertilizers in agriculture, compared to obsolete practices consisting on more surface management of inputs to the plant.
Despite of the evolution of substantial ITC solutions, growers still address their practices to increasing the production ratios per plant, minimizing costs at the same time. Now, quality in terms of fruit quality and nutritional content may be taken into account when managing irrigation. Hidric stress due to an excess or defect of water and nutrients has to be avoided in order to minimize the energy effort of the plant during the absorption process. A more accurate irrigation system should be based on the nutritional needs of the plant in its different physiological status.
Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:
Novel technologies which can help to accurately control and manage water and fertilizers use in strawberry and other berries cultures, for example:
Plant nutrition, fertirrigation management, ITC irrigation suporting tools, sensoring.
Requested Cooperation: Technical consultancy, Testing of new applications, Adaptation to specific needs
- Type of partner sought: companies and technology centres.
- Specific area of activity of the partner: Agriculture.
- Task to be performed by the partner sought: technical and commercial cooperation.
